Prior to
founding Irwin J. Alexander Design, Irwin was employed by the
design firm of Project Associates. While there, Irwin Alexander
was intimately involved with the redesign of Regent's Beverly
Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California in 1987. His special
insight allowed him to discover space within the original building
that would be recreated as the new Presidential Suite. He was
also involved with the renovation of several other hotels and
residences, including The Inn at the Opera (San Francisco, California),
Loews' Giorgio Hotel (Cherry Creek, Colorado) and The Inn at Fisherman's
Wharf (San Francisco, California).
As winner
of Home & Garden's television series Designers' Challenge
(Episode 412) in August 2001 (airing first on July 11, 2002),
Irwin J. Alexander Design proved its superiority in designing
a flawless master bedroom that met the needs of the clients. The
firm's design was creative yet delivered the look and feel the
clients had desired. The project encompassed the design of custom
furnishings, window treatments, color and fabric selection, and
space planning. The redesigned room now gives the clients the
romantic master suite about which they had dreamed.
The firm's current Southern California projects include furnishing
a 4,000 square foot residence in the hills above Sherman Oaks,
the renovation of a 2,000 square foot residence in Agua Dulce,
and the creation of custom furnishings for a client with an oceanfront
apartment in Santa Monica.
